When I photographed this model I had the sensation that the hot-tub cover she was sitting on was trying to break away and lift off into space -- so I put that idea into the serigraph, incorporating both photographic and hand-cut screens.

While on a photo-hike in the woods, I saw this tree with mushroom-like fungi jutting out and I knew immediately what I had to do with it. I photographed the faeries individually in my studio and built up this complex photo-serigraph.

When I photographed this model against the rocks, I wasn’t aware of the faint shadows and markings on the rocks behind her. When I was preparing the tone separations to make the silk-screens, the “wings jumped out at me and pushed me to this final result.

This representation of a Roman bath required 175 separate silk-screens, both photographic and hand cut/drawn ones (175 separate layers of ink). It is historically correct in that men and women did not normally use the baths at the same time and that the water flowed from the warm bath into the cooler bath (women did not normally use the hot bath). This work allowed me to include most of the women who modeled for me over a number of years in one large serigraph.
